Jed Madela was born in Iloilo City, Iloilo, the son of JC Roy Madela Tajanlangit, a church choirmaster, and Agnes Taleon Tiña, an Administrative *istant at Pepsi.

He is the elder brother of Eric Tajanlangit and Joanne Christine Tajanlangit.
