History

San Pedro Calungsod Church started as a mission station in Pulangbato initiated by San Isidro Labrador Parish in Talamban, Cebu City after the approval of Archbishop Jose Palma in 2012. It was the product of Basic Ecclesiastical Community or BEC, and it serves 22 chapels in the villages of Binaliw, Pit-os, and Pulangbato.

It was declared a parish on December 7, 2013.

The construction of the church on a property donated by Flora S. Montebon began with the groundbreaking rites on January 25, 2015 and was attended by Archbishop Jose Palma and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama. Its design was created by Michael Torres of ArchiGlobal Inc.

While the church was being built, a chapel was erected nearby.
